African youth taking the risk because of bad governance
Tragedy strikes once again. Another boat has capsized in the Mediterranean, carrying dreams that will never come true. Among the 45 lost souls, 11 were young Cameroonians—people with hopes, ambitions, and a future. Today, they are gone forever.
We must ask ourselves: why do our brothers and sisters risk crossing deserts, enduring inhumane conditions?
Facing the high seas—only to meet death instead of so-called “greener pastures”?
If you can raise 1.5 million CFA francs for an illegal voyage, why not invest it in a legal and productive future here?
Cameroon is not perfect, but it is a land of opportunity. Great businessmen have built their empires right here, why not you or us? Success is possible with determination, hard work, and patience.
To us young people: let’s stop playing with our lives! The sea has no use for our dreams. It only swallows those who believe the lie that life is better elsewhere at all costs.
Let’s work together to build a future here, a future that doesn’t involve burying our brothers and sisters in these countries.
Let’s take our voter registration cards and vote in October 2025.
Let’s say NO to illegal immigration.
Our lives matter.
