FORMER SENATE PRESIDENT MARCEL NIAT NJIFENJI DIES AT 91
Cameroon has lost a major political figure as former Senate President Marcel Niat Njifenji has passed away at the age of 91.
He died today at 12 p.m., marking the end of a long and influential career in public service.
An engineer by training, Njifenji served as Director-General of SONEL before holding key government roles, including Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
He later became the first-ever President of the Senate in 2013, a position he held for over a decade.
His passing closes a chapter in Cameroon’s political history spanning more than 50 years.
