A SENIOR ARMY OFFICER ADDRESSES THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, PAUL BIYA.

“We do not speak on behalf of the entire Defense Forces, a role that falls to the MINDEF, but we are a team of uniformed men (all ranks) who follow current events and analyze with maximum objectivity, especially on the security front.

Mr. President, you must listen to the people. The people who have been speaking to you for some time now, the people of the cities and the countryside. The country is in a bad way; everyone sees and experiences it, including the men in uniform. We are the people before being soldiers, and we return to the people after military service.

Your candidacy in the October 12 election was already nonsense in itself. But it’s not too late; you must hand over the reins on the evening of October 12, 2025, because the trend does not give you the frontrunner. Your works and achievements are numerous. Do not waste this great journey you have made alongside the people for several decades.

Your strength has diminished considerably, and your memory is also slowly failing you. Despite the arsonists around you, you are no longer yourself. Step aside and retire to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Cameroon will not collapse after you. We are convinced that the Cameroonians who aspire to replace you share your dream: to develop and modernize Cameroon.

In the event of an explosion, we are always the ones who pay the highest price, and so we wonder if the life of a man in uniform is worth less than that of a politician.

Every time you make bad political decisions, it is the men in uniform who suffer. Thousands of soldiers, gendarmes, and police officers have been killed in the NOSO and the Far North of our country. Why can’t you anticipate crises? We cannot bear to repress a population that is already hungry and thirsty. A population demanding more freedoms, political reforms, and better social conditions. What could be more normal!

The October 12th election must be open and peaceful. When we observe its unfolding, everything seems locked and locked down; it’s not good; the world is watching us. Put the ball back in the center.

Will you finally listen to these young people who have long believed in you and who today have lost all hope, but who are at the same time determined to make themselves heard? Don’t start a new crisis that could escape your control. Our lives are also useful, at least for our families. We are the silent majority, but not the blind majority. You control all the state’s apparatus and resources, which you use to oppress your opponents; this is not serious.

The opponents are not criminals; they love this country as much as you do. Some have proven themselves to you; stop demonizing them. Sit down around a table with your opponents and discuss the future of Cameroon.

Give this election some credence since you proclaim yourself a democrat. Put yourself on the same starting line as the other candidates with an impartial judge, and you will understand the suffering of Cameroonians.

This brief analysis reflects the feelings of the men in the barracks. Four out of five military personnel will tell you the same thing. In any case, think very carefully to avoid surprises. The solution is in your hands.
