After the recognition of Somaliland, the next is Ambaland
The Biya regime in Cameroon is reportedly in a state of panic following news that Israel has officially recognised the sovereignty of Somaliland, a nation with a similar decolonisation history to that of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia (Ambaland), formerly the Southern Cameroons. Ambazonia has conflicted with Cameroon for over nine years, fighting to free itself from colonial rule, with Cameroon acting as a proxy for imperial powers in the region.
With Somaliland gaining international recognition, the situation is escalating. The Yaoundé government is on high alert following a series of successful offensives by Ambazonian forces (The Ambazonia State Army – ASA) who have targeted and neutralized 50 Cameroon troops over the past two months. A family source confirmed the deaths of these soldiers.
Israel’s recognition of Somaliland marks a historic moment, making it the first country to formally acknowledge the territory’s independence, despite Somalia’s continued claim over it. While Somaliland has maintained autonomy for decades, it had never been recognized as a sovereign nation until this announcement.
