The 93 years old tyrant who in his end-of-year message to the people said he was ready to give his life in serving Cameroon will receive New Year’s greetings from the diplomatic corps present in Yaoundé as well as from national constituted bodies at the Unity Palace this Friday, January 10, 2025.
The program was made public in a statement by Minister Mvondo Ayolo, Director of the Civil Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic, and scheduled the passage of the diplomatic corps between 3:00 PM and 3:50 PM before the Cameroonian Head of State. It will be marked by the traditional speech of the dean of the diplomatic corps accredited in Yaoundé on the state of international relations.
The second passage of the national constituted bodies will follow between 4:00 PM and 4:45 PM. The program details and dress code requirements for these ceremonies are in the official statement from the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic. For the fear that some pictures of the ailing dictator may slip out on social media to attract criticism, using phones will be prohibited during these two sessions.
Dictator Biya who has been in power with a tight fist for over 42 years has been the victim of open criticism from the bishops and other opposition leaders urging him to quit the scene. But he and his stallwalk of the crime-ridden CPDM regime are bent on maintaining power at all costs.
