Region, as corpses liter Meyo-Centre
Tensions and violence in the Ntem Valley: the situation is degenerating in Meyo-centre as matters go in sixes and sevens unfolding inter-tribal wars.
The town of Meyo-centre, located in the the Ntem Valley division, in the South region, is currently the scene of violent clashes and scenes of vandalism. These disturbances occur in a tense context, marked by the recent discovery of several suspicious corpses in the surrounding forests, according to local sources.
The situation took a dramatic turn with the macabre discovery of the body of the artist Calvino’s elder brother, found with his throat slit by unidentified individuals. This tragedy, described as horrific by witnesses, caused a shockwave in the community, exacerbating the already palpable tensions. The images of the scene, of extreme violence, deeply shocked the inhabitants.
Faced with this escalation of violence, calls are multiplying for urgent intervention by the authorities. The population is demanding a field visit by law enforcement officers to restore calm and prevent the situation from getting worse. The Ntem Valley, plunged into a climate of uncertainty and fear, is now waiting for a rapid and firm response to calm tempers and prevent further violence.
The matter has taken a tribal connotation pitting the beti indigenes AGAINST the NON INDIGENES, the former who besides the killings have set business premises belonging to the latter ablaze.
Ahead of the announced presidential elections this 2025 things might not be the same again in this banana republic as more corpses were equally discovered in a nearby bush on the Edea – Yaounde road, a market set on fire in Foumbot in the west region, explosive devices detonated in the war-torn northern zone of the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia. Several kidnappings, abductions, aggressions and looting have become the order of the day across the Cameroons mostly spearheaded by employed youth who have grouped themselves in terrorizing gangs armed with machetes, knives and clubs christened “LES MICROBES” making fast monies in towns and on the highways in order to make ends meet as they harass and torture their prey.
