This is not just a quote.
This is a mirror held up to Africa’s leadership. We shout when soldiers take over governments. We cry “democracy” when tanks appear on the streets. But what about when leaders change constitutions, remove term limits,
manipulate courts, and recycle themselves forever in power? Is that not also a coup? Just without guns. Just with pens. The truth is painful: When institutions are hijacked, the people lose faith. And when people lose faith, the military steps in. If ECOWAS truly wants stability in West Africa, it must stop playing selective justice.
You can’t condemn soldiers while protecting political dictators in suits.
