More than 5000 school kits for vulnerable young girls

The second stage of the operation of distributing school kits to 30 thousand young girls in the Septentrion has dropped off their suitcases in the Château d’Eau region of Cameroon. 101 schools including 39 secondary schools and 62 primary and university schools have been involved in this distribution, targeting young girls aged 10 to 24. In total, 5359 school kits were handed over because, for the Sahel Women Empowerment And Demographic Dividend Project ( SWEDD), the education of the girls is an important aspect of a priority. This is the logic of capturing the demographic dividend in priority education areas where the young girl is forced to abandon her education for the benefit of the young boy due to lack of financial means. SWEDD is funded by the World Bank with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as the technical implementation partner.
