Paul Biya Convenes Regional Council elections on November 30
A presidential decree this September 1 has convened the Regional Elections for November 30, 2025.
These elections will be held 49 days after the Presidential Elections scheduled for October 12. It will be the second after that of December 6, 2020 and will engage approximately 10,000 municipal councillors and 14,000 traditional rulers around the country.
According to a 2019 law, every region is entitled to 90 councillors; seventy being divisional representatives and twenty representing traditional rulers.
CDPM ADVANTAGE
The ruling party will have an edge over others because it presently controls the majority of the Councils in Cameroon, as the election will not be a universal suffrage.
