Reverend Dr. Teke John Ekema has been inducted as the 15th Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC). The induction ceremony took place at the Nkwen Baptist Church on January 11, 2025. Reverend Dr. Ekema, who hails from Bokwango in Buea subdivision, South West Region of Cameroon, has placed his administration under the theme “Peace and Holistic Development”.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Divinity from Nairobi, Kenya, and has been serving as the Senior Pastor of Mizpah Baptist Church in Limbe for 20 years. His induction marks a significant moment for the CBC, as he is the first South Westerner to hold this position in 40 years.

Reverend Dr. Ekema has expressed his commitment to working for an inclusive church that values the rights of minorities and dreams of a CBC that will one day be led by francophone brothers. He has also called on those who have taken the church to court during the mandate of his predecessor to withdraw the cases and settle the matter in-house
