The Pope is the head of the Catholic church, the largest, richest, most powerful religious organisation in the world, with 1.4 billion people. He flies commercial. Has no private jet.
David Oyedepo is the head pastor of Winners Chapel. He has 3 private jets in a country where 110 million people live in multidimensional poverty. He says God wants you to be rich, but for the past 40 years, since he’s been preaching his doctrine of prosperity, only himself and his family have grown richer. The country has become poorer, and that includes its followers. His words lack credibility.
There’s a reason why people would rather relate with the Pope than relate with the false doctrine of Oyedepo, which works only for himself and his family but leaves millions of people in abject poverty.
Any right-thinking individual can deduce that the Prosperity doctrine of Oyedepo is a false doctrine.
Sinners who don’t attend church are rich. Why? Because money is not a reward for spirituality. Money is a reward for the creation and delivery of value.
We are called to preach Christ and not materialism. Luke 12:15: And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
Let the character of Christ reflect in our lifestyle, relationships, family and career.
