Laureate Mbacham Mirabel Ekembe had this to say:
βI am deeply honored and sincerely grateful to Wopen for this recognition.
Being acknowledged among such powerful women peace mediators is both humbling and inspiring. This journey has never been mine alone, but itβs rooted in the resilience of the women and girls we serve, whose strength continues to fuel my commitment every single day.
Through Goodwill Ambassadors of Hope (GWAH) Cameroon, and as a member of Wopen, my mission has always been to amplify voices that are too often unheard, challenge injustices and create spaces where women can lead, thrive and shape their own futures. This recognition is a reminder that our collective efforts toward justice, dignity, and equality are seen and that they matter.
I share this honor with every woman who refuses to be silenced, every community that believes in change and every partner working tirelessly to advance peace and gender equality.
Thank you, Wopen, for celebrating this work and for continuing to uplift women leaders who are transforming their communities. The journey continues, and I remain committedβnow more than ever.
With gratitude β
