Some 231 Cameroonians, including 28 women and 203 men, have reportedly been expelled from Equatorial Guinea. Many of those who arrived in the border town of Kye-Ossi revealed that they spent nine days in detention and were subjected to torture.

They were forced to leave behind their family members and belongings. An operation to return their personal belongings, including mobile phones and other equipment, is reportedly underway.

They have called on the Cameroonian government to intervene, as additional waves of expulsion are anticipated in the coming days. The Equatorial Guinean authorities have repeatedly carried out mass expulsions of foreign nationals, particularly targeting Cameroonians, without official justification.
