CAMEROON JAILS 3 SOLDIERS OVER KILLING OF 21 CIVILIANS
Three Cameroonian soldiers have reportedly received prison sentences for their involvement in the killing of 21 civilians during the 2020 conflict in the Northwest Region.
This judgment sends a clear warning to every soldier and security officer: wearing a uniform does not place anyone above the law. The duty of the military is to protect civilians—not to torture, terrorize, or kill innocent people.
Anyone who commits human-rights violations must understand that justice may be delayed, but accountability can still come. Soldiers must refuse unlawful orders, respect human dignity, and follow international humanitarian law.
