SAHEL ALLIANCE DECLARES END OF CFA FRANC ERA
The Alliance of Sahel States (AES) Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger- have voted to drop the CFA franc and move toward their own independent regional currency.
“At this stage of our history, we can no longer remain rich in mineral resources while a foreign nation controls our currency. For over three years, we have proven that we can stand on our own without Western loans. Today, we say enough. A sovereign nation must control its resources, its security, and its own currency.”
