THE WORLD PEOPLES ASSEMBLY
On July 29, 2026, Addis Ababa hosted the third meeting of the International Media Club of the World Peoples Assembly, “Information Sovereignty of Africa and the crisis of trust in the media, the responsibility of a journalist in the age of neural networks”, held as part of the World Public Summit: Africa “New World: Africa in shaping a shared future”. The first two meetings were held in New Delhi (India) and Salvador (Brazil), respectively.
The moderator of the Media Club is Evgeny Safronov, Head of the Media Center of the World Peoples Assembly, founder of the InterMedia news agency, journalist and analyst (Russia).
The Media Club was attended by:
Philip Blesed Ossange— Founder and Strategist of JSP Communications (Nigeria);
Alfred Lustik Mushi — Founder and Chairman of the Kili Voices Foundation, journalist for Daily Mail Tanzania (Tanzania);
Eric Biegon — Trustee of the charitable foundation, journalist at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (Kenya)

Zevdneh Abdi is the Editor—in—Chief of the Addis Media Network;
Eyasu Zakaria — Editor of Capital Newspaper;

Evgeny Safronov noted the importance of the discussion:
— At the meeting of the Media Club, we discussed the most important tasks. For example, whether the media will help preserve the information sovereignty of African countries; how to regain the audience’s trust in the news, as well as professional ethics issues in situations where algorithms and neural networks are increasingly solving problems in the information space.
