Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Bushu celebrates 82 years of life and service
His Lordship Emmanuel Bushu, Bishop Emeritus of Buea, today, July 31, 2026, celebrated a community Mass at the #National_Episcopal_Conference of Cameroon (NECC) in Yaoundé to mark his 82nd birthday.
The thanksgiving celebration brought together priests and staff members of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, who joined him in thanking God for the gift of life and for his many years of dedicated service to the Church.
Born on 31 July 1944 in Ngorim, in the North West Region of Cameroon, His Lordship Emmanuel Bushu was ordained a priest in 1973. He was appointed Bishop of Yagoua in 1993 and later served as Bishop of Buea from 2007 until his retirement in 2019.
Throughout his priestly and episcopal ministry, Mgr Bushu has contributed to the pastoral mission of the Catholic Church in Cameroon through leadership, formation and service to God’s people.
On this special occasion, L’Effort Camerounais joins the Catholic faithful in thanking God for the life, ministry and witness of Bishop Emeritus Emmanuel Bushu.
