Gabon : Pascaline Bongo relaxée à Paris , Patience Dabany en procès contre le PDG

Gabon: Pascaline Bongo acquitted in Paris, Patience Dabany on trial against the CEO

The Bongo family is still at the center of the news with the acquittal granted to   Pascaline Bongo  and the trial of Patience Dabany  , mother of former President Ali Bongo against the PDG  party following her dismissal.

Pascaline Bongo, the daughter of the former president of Gabon Omar Bongo, benefited from an acquittal in a corruption case for which she was being prosecuted

She was suspected of having intervened in favor of the company Egis Routes against 8 million euros in kickbacks. The court considered that it did not in fact have the power to award the criticized contract.

Furthermore, the famous singer Patience Dabany, stage name of the former First Lady Joséphine Bongo, filed a complaint against eight senior officials of the movement for having removed her from the CEO at the beginning of March.

Ms. Dabany would have been removed without having been summoned before the standing committee, in violation of the party’s statutes.

A sanction which according to her led to an “unlawful disturbance”.

Tuesday, the civil court of Libreville rejected the objections raised by the lawyer of the eight officials of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) taken to court

The lawyer had mentioned “lis pendens”, believing that another complaint was pending against the CEO before the Constitutional Court, and that it was necessary to await the result before proceeding before the court.
