Automobile: Dutch Rymax Lubricants wants to launch lubricant distribution in Cameroon by the end of 2024

The company thus wishes to extend its activities in the Cemac zone after having established itself in several markets in West and Southern Africa.

Rymax Lubricants, a Dutch company established in 1986, has announced its plans to expand its distribution network to Cameroon by the end of 2024. This move is part of the company’s strategy to increase its presence in the African market, where it has already established partnerships in countries such as Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and South Africa.

The expansion into Cameroon represents a significant step for Rymax Lubricants, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing high-quality lubricants and greases made in Holland. With a range of products that cater to various sectors including passenger cars, commercial transport, motorbikes, racing, agriculture, industry, mining, and marine applications, Rymax is poised to meet the diverse needs of the Cameroonian market.

Rymax’s approach to business is built on transparency, honesty, and the quality of its products and services. The company offers full marketing, sales, and logistics support to its distributors, ensuring that they are well-equipped to succeed in the competitive lubricant market. Additionally, distributors have access to Rymax’s global network and online resources through the Rymax Portal, as well as the support of a dedicated Customer Success Manager.

The company’s decision to launch in Cameroon is also indicative of the growing automotive and industrial sectors in the region. As the demand for quality lubricants rises, Rymax Lubricants aims to fulfil this need with its extensive product range and expertise.

For those interested in becoming exclusive distributors of Rymax Lubricants in Cameroon, the company has made it possible to express interest through its website. This opportunity opens up avenues for local businesses to partner with an international brand known for its excellence and comprehensive support system.

As Rymax Lubricants prepares for its launch in Cameroon, it continues to demonstrate its ability to adapt and grow in new markets. The year 2023 has already been reported as the best year yet for the company, with expansion to new countries and the introduction of new products and a brand-new packaging line. This trajectory suggests that Rymax Lubricants will continue to make significant strides in the lubricant industry, both in Cameroon and globally.

The Dutch engine lubricant manufacturing giant Rymax Lubricants wants to start distributing its products in Cameroon by the end of 2024. According to the company, a call for applications to recruit an exclusive distributor of Rymax lubricants in Cameroon has just been launched. The latter targets in particular local distribution companies that have at least a storage capacity equivalent to that of a container, i.e. companies classified as environmental protection subject to prefectural authorization, with a retention capacity of approximately 800 litres or at least the total capacity of the drums. Among other products of this company, there are lubricants (engine oils) and greases.

Indeed, Rymax Lubricants’ choice to invest in Cameroon comes in a context where the company wishes to extend its influence on African markets and more specifically in the Cemac zone, common to six countries including Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Central African Republic, Chad, in addition to Cameroon where the company does not have commercial partners. “After many successes, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner in lubricants in several markets in West, Central and Southern Africa. We have trusted partners in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali and South Africa. We continue to build on these achievements by expanding our presence in Cameroon,” she insists.

If the call for tenders proves successful in the coming days, Rymax Lubricants will thus enter an increasingly competitive market that brings together local and foreign operators. Among other lubricant brands on this market, we note “Engen” from the Cameroonian company Blessing Petroleum and partner of the South African oil giant Engen Petroleum LTD; “Ola Energy Lubricants” from Ola Energy; “Castrol GTX 20W50” from Neptune Oil; the German Venol; the lubricants “Quartz”, “Hi-Perf” and “Rubia” from the French TotalEnergies; or the exclusive distributor of lubricants Engine Oil Company, based in Douala.

Supplying the local market

However, the expansion of the Dutch company in Cameroon could also help supply the local market to reduce the demand for engine lubrication products that has been growing steadily in recent years. According to the recent report on foreign trade by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), Cameroon imported 2,051 tonnes of fuels and lubricants in 2023 for a total envelope of 1,128.1 billion CFA francs in 2023, an increase of 285.8 tonnes (+ 16.2%) compared to 2022. At the same time, the country exported only 174 tonnes of these products for an amount of 66.5 billion CFA francs over the same period, despite an increase in export capacities of 153.2 tonnes over the same period (+ 747.2%).

Founded in the Netherlands in 1986, Rymax Lubricants produces speciality lubricants and greases for passenger cars, motorcycles, commercial transport, industrial, agricultural, racing, marine and mining solutions. The company offers a range of over 300 different high-quality products and markets them in over 60 countries worldwide. It also offers oil consultants.
