Cameroon and the Reign of Terror

A video beyond horror itself was projected at the military tribunal two days ago. State agents practising the art of evil with glee and frenzy. But for a nation desperately begging for answers to a plethora of survival questions, the video should not eclipse those fundamental questions for which the victim himself dared the devils and ultimately paid with his life. Martinez Zogo is gone, but his worries and those of millions of Cameroonians remain not just alive but even more deadly and urgent.
1) Martinez was killed bc he questioned why a minister in Cameroon has the strange powers of creating monsters with public funds. The minister of finance unilaterally created a monster billionaire in Amougou Belinga, who in turn took over a state security apparatus and wreaked havoc on humanity. Nowhere in the world is a finance minister as powerful as Motaze. Dishing out billions to friends and allies at will. WHY IS MOTAZE STILL A MINISTER?
2) How many other billionaires are out there created by the same minister with public funds? Billionaires are cropping up every day in LRC like mushrooms, not from business, enterprise or hard work but from free access to state funds. In the aftermath of Zogo’s murder, no institutional, personnel, or policy reforms have been put in place to address these issues. WHY?
3) How many Amougou Belingas are still out there? How many are still being created every day?
4) How many other deaths have been attributed to the Direction Générale de la Recherche Extérieure (DGRE), the guillotine service? Samuel Wazizi? Bishop Balla? The long list of priests? etc etc. There are so many cases out there begging for closure. All lives matter, not just that of Zogo.
The Matinez Zogo case should not eclipse these fundamental questions. Rather, it should stir a cauldron of national awareness and reawakening to the deadly state apparatus the monster CPDM regime has built for close to 50 years and why it is urgent for the system to take its place in the dustbin of history
