Le Batonnier Akere T. Muna publie une déclaration sur la prétendue
collaboration entre Transparency International Cameroon (TIC) et la
SNH
Batonnier Akere T. Muna, fondateur de Transparency International
Cameroon (TIC), ancien Vice-Président de Transparency International
et ancien Président du Conseil de la Conférence Internationale Anti-
Corruption (IACC), annonce la publication d’une déclaration publique à
la suite d’informations médiatiques et d’une communication attribuée à
la Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) faisant état d’une réunion
stratégique tenue le 26 février 2026 dans le cadre d’une collaboration
TIC–SNH.
Dans sa déclaration, M. Muna indique n’avoir eu aucune connaissance
ni de l’existence, ni du cadre, ni des objectifs, ni d’un éventuel
financement d’une telle collaboration, tout en rappelant son rôle
historique dans l’adhésion du Cameroun à l’ITIE (EITI) et la présence de
TIC au Comité National ITIE.
Il y exprime de vives préoccupations relatives à la gouvernance et à la
transparence dans le secteur extractif, notamment au regard des
révélations et procédures internationales liées au scandale GLENCORE,
et appelle TIC à convoquer une Assemblée Générale Extraordinaire afin
de clarifier publiquement tout engagement avec la SNH, d’en garantir
l’indépendance, d’en publier les termes, et d’exiger des mesures
d’imputabilité et de réformes.

Akere T. Muna issues public declaration on alleged collaboration
between Transparency International Cameroon (TIC) and SNH
Akere T. Muna, Founder of Transparency International Cameroon
(TIC), former Vice Chair of Transparency International and former
Chair of the Council of the International Anti-Corruption Conference
(IACC), announces the release of a public declaration following the media
reports and a communication attributed to Cameroon’s National
Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) referencing a strategic meeting held
on 26 February 2026 as part of an ongoing TIC–SNH collaboration.
In the declaration, Mr Muna states that, while remaining a member
and as TIC’s founder, he did not know of any such collaboration,
including its framework, objectives, or any potential funding
arrangements. He also recalls his role in initiating Cameroon’s EITI
(Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) membership and TIC’s
permanent seat on the national EITI committee.
Mr. Muna raises serious concerns regarding governance and
transparency in the extractive sector, particularly in light of
International proceedings and findings linked to the GLENCORE
corruption scandal and calls on TIC to convene an Extraordinary
General Assembly to publicly clarify any engagement with SNH,
safeguard independence, disclose all terms, and demand
accountability and reforms.
