Elderly mothers and the disabled: it’s your turn to smile.

Good news from Anthropology Ladies on a Mission

Old mothers, disabled young girls and women will soon smile. A network of fifteen esteemed women from diverse backgrounds, called Anthropology Ladies on a Mission (ALM), has promised to come to the assistance of elderly mothers and physically challenged girls and women in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon in 2026.

According to one of the resolutions adopted by the Anthropology Ladies on a Mission during their second conclave at Beckey Delight Restaurant in Bamenda, North West Region, on November 29, 2025, the vulnerable population will receive donations of necessities and improved housing conditions. The quantity and quality of the gifts will depend on the fallouts of a fundraising campaign, which the Anthropology Ladies on a Mission plan to organise in 2026.

It is worth recalling that Cameroon’s political capital, Yaounde, hosted the first-ever gathering of Anthropology Ladies on a Mission (ALM) on February 9, 2024. The meeting was an opportunity for ALM members to share their stories and set ambitious goals.

Founded on September 19, 2024, by Lady Julien Tetang and Lady Ebako Miriam, ALM began as a WhatsApp group and quickly evolved into a vibrant network dedicated to positively impacting communities. The Anthropology Ladies movement is a beacon of unity, bravery, determination, and resilience, proving that when women join hands irrespective of the sector, they can transform communities, inspire generations, and impact lasting change.
