Charged with illegal possession of a weapon: Suspect in Donald Trump assassination attempt.

In the United States, the suspect arrested for the attempted assassination of Donald Trump has been charged with illegal possession of a weapon.

Ryan Wesley Routh, who is suspected of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump, appeared in federal court in Florida on Monday. During his first appearance, which lasted less than ten minutes, he was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a gun with the serial number obscured.

According to English media, the charges carry a sentence of up to 15 years in prison for the first offense and up to five years for the second offense. However, it’s important to note that these accusations do not refer to the attempted assassination of the former president, as indicated by the FBI, which is investigating the case. Last July, the Republican candidate was the victim of an assassination attempt during the campaign in Pennsylvania.
