Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of Hezbollah, been killed in Israeli military strikes targeting the organization’s headquarters

Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of Hezbollah, has been killed in Israeli military strikes targeting the organization’s headquarters in Beirut the day prior. A prominent figure leading Hezbollah since 1992, Nasrallah is now deceased. The Israeli army has stated that the leader of the Islamist movement was eliminated during a series of attacks aimed at the group’s base in southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

“Hassan Nasrallah is dead,” declared Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, an army spokesperson, on the social media platform X. This information was corroborated by another spokesperson, Capt. David Avraham. Recent reports indicate that a source affiliated with the movement lost contact on Friday evening, which likely implies that the Hezbollah leader has indeed passed away.

In the southern suburbs of Beirut, a stronghold for Hezbollah, numerous buildings were severely damaged by Israeli airstrikes during the night from Friday to Saturday. At the United Nations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continue military operations in Lebanon.
