HOW FAR CAN HON. CHIEF OSIH JOSHUA TAKE THE SDF PARTY?

Senator Jean Tsomelou, former Secretary-General of the Social Democratic Front (SDF), has written an open letter to all SDF grassroots members and supporters, expressing his deep concern about the party’s current state. He believes the SDF is being dragged into an authoritarian drift, threatening its survival and role in Cameroon’s democratic transformation.

Tsomelou highlights several alarming decisions made by the current leadership, including the imposition of a non-refundable fee of 50,000,000 FCFA for candidates seeking to contest for leadership within the party. He sees this as a deliberate mechanism to exclude dedicated party members and reserve electoral competition for a privileged elite.

The former Secretary-General also criticizes the current leadership for rejecting reconciliation and internal dialogue, and for dictating decisions from the top without consultation with the grassroots. He argues that the SDF was built on the principles of democracy, social justice, and popular participation, but is now being led astray from these core ideals.

Tsomelou calls upon all members and sympathizers to remain calm yet resolute and to stand firm in safeguarding the work of the party’s founding fathers. He emphasizes that the future of the SDF belongs to its grassroots members, not to an isolated elite.

It’s worth noting that Tsomelou was replaced by Barrister Djomgang Adeline Lord as the new Secretary General of the SDF in June 2022. The SDF has a rich history, founded on May 26, 1990, to promote democracy and social justice in Cameroon.

PM  questions Atanga Nji non respect of state protocol Government action is supposed to be coordinated by the head of government, the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute. But it seems this is not the case in Cameroon, where some ministers receive their orders directly from the presidency without consulting the head of government.

According to our information, the trip made by the Minister of Territorial Administration last week to the Far North was done without following the proper procedures.

And according to whistleblower Boris Bertolt, this led to demands for explanations from the Minister of Territorial Administration.

The Minat, Paul Atanga Nji, went to the Far North before the arrival of the SGPR, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, without informing and obtaining the approval of the Prime Minister. Dion Ngute issued him a request for an explanation,” reads a publication by Boris Bertolt
