*JOSHUA OSIH* *DEFIES* *ODDS, LAUNCHES* *PEOPLE-POWERED* *CAMPAIGN* *IN* *CONFLICT* *ZONES*
The Social Democratic Front (SDF) presidential candidate, Hon. Joshua Osih, has electrified the nation with a bold campaign launch that has already taken him deep into conflict-affected regions where no other candidate dares to go.
From Bamenda to Kumba, Konye, and Nkongsamba, Osih has shown extraordinary courage, humility, and resilience. He paid homage at Liberty Square, birthplace of Cameroonโs democratic struggle, marched on foot through Commercial Avenue, sought blessings from traditional rulers in Konye, and symbolically drank from boreholes provided by the SDF in Moungo โ proof that action, not empty promises, defines his leadership.
Along the way, touching scenes of hope have marked the trail โ including a physically challenged supporter carried on friendsโ backs to meet him, echoing the faith that Cameroonians now place in Osihโs candidacy.
Despite attempted disruptions, military restrictions, and heavy rains, the peopleโs message is clear: Joshua Osih is the candidate who listens, who dares, and who delivers.
The SDF campaign has also rolled out a modern communication strategy, including a special edition of The Vanguard, expanded social media outreach, and a daily flow of news updates to keep Cameroonians informed.
With the slogan โrescue Cameroon,โ Osihโs campaign is not only reclaiming the SDFโs historic bastions in the North West and South West, but also igniting nationwide momentum for real democratic transformation.
CAMPAIGN *TRAIL* *HIGHLIGHTS*
*DAY* *ONE* โ *BAMANDA*
Despite security challenges, Hon. Osih launched his campaign in Bamenda. Before entering the city, he paid homage at Baba II, the birthplace of SDF founder Ni John Fru Ndi.
At Liberty Square, Osih laid a wreath at the monument of those killed during the SDFโs founding struggle in 1990, symbolizing courage, resilience, and determination.
He then walked on foot through Commercial Avenue to the ceremonial grounds, cheered on by over 20 dance groups and a massive crowd โ a show of defiance in an environment where separatists had threatened political rallies.
*Day* *Two* โ *Kumba* *&* *Konye*
Hon. Osih attended service at Presbyterian Church Kumba Mbeng, then defied military warnings to visit Konye, a separatist stronghold, where he received blessings from traditional rulers.
At the rally in Kumba, he told supporters: โI did not come here to campaign. I came to seek your blessings and remind you of the peopleโs suffering, which I am committed to ending.โ
He later walked through Fiango, hailed by thousands. A touching moment came when a physically challenged man was carried on friendsโ backs just to meet Osih, likened by onlookers to a biblical miracle of hope.
*DAY* *THREE* โ *MOUNGO*
From Souza to Nkongsamba, Osih drew large crowds, many of whom were internally displaced persons from the Anglophone regions. Despite heavy rains, they waited in the open to see him.
In a symbolic act, Osih drank water from SDF-provided boreholes in Moungo, highlighting the partyโs tangible development projects, in stark contrast to the ruling CPDMโs 43-year neglect.
In Nkongsamba, authorities attempted to disrupt his rally, but Osih still addressed supporters, turning the attempted suppression into a moment of defiance.
An accident involving a local campaign team from Bafang in the upper Nkam division raised concern, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.
