“Nasser International Forum”: Unprecedented Participation from Latin America in the Fifth Edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership In a statement, the Nasser International Forum announced that Latin American participation in the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership has reached a record high, making it the largest in the history of youth activities. Forty-two young men and women representing 14 countries from the continent have applied for the fellowship, marking the largest Latin American presence since its inception. This remarkable turnout underscores the growing international standing of the fellowship. It reflects the confidence of Latin American youth in Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting and empowering young leaders from around the world. Anthropological researcher Hassan Ghazaly, founder of the Nasser International Forum, stated that the fifth edition of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership witnessed unprecedented interest from Latin American countries. Forty-two young men and women representing 14 countries from the continent applied for the fellowship, clearly indicating the increasing interest of these countries in participating in youth initiatives with a leadership and developmental focus. These initiatives enhance opportunities for international interaction and the exchange of experiences. He clarified that out of the 14 applicant countries, participants from 11 countries were selected after passing the evaluation stages, reflecting the outstanding level of Latin American youth in terms of competence, ambition, and desire to engage in capacity-building programs and enhance leadership roles. He pointed out that this Latin American interaction represents a qualitative addition to the fellowship and strengthens Egypt’s position as a regional and global platform that attracts young talents and contributes to preparing them to be leaders of positive change in their societies. This momentum also reflects the growing confidence in Egypt’s role in promoting youth diplomacy and deepening partnerships with countries of the Global South within its vision for sustainable development and international cooperation. The founder of the Nasser International Fellowship added that this unprecedented participation from Latin American countries reflects the growing appreciation in Latin America for Egypt’s pioneering role in empowering youth and supporting leadership and sustainable development efforts worldwide. This underscores the effectiveness of Egypt’s policies in promoting the position of youth as a fundamental element in positive change trajectories. He also noted that this participation reflects a broad cultural and geographical diversity that will enrich the fellowship experience with a unique blend of perspectives and expertise, providing participants with a space for constructive dialogue and the exchange of ideas among the youth of the Global South. He pointed out that this participation is expected to strengthen bonds of cooperation among nations and solidify the concepts of solidarity and regional and international integration, in line with the fellowship’s goals of preparing young leaders capable of making a real impact in their societies. This overwhelming interest from Latin America is evidence of the growing trust in the youth diplomacy championed by Egypt, which has become an influential platform for international dialogue and driving change through youth.
