During the opening match of the UNIFFAC Under-17 tournament, the Central African Republic suffered a severe 9-0 defeat against Cameroun. This match raised questions, particularly about the age of the Cameroonian players.
The Central African coach, Dertin Boulengue, expressed doubts about the equality of the teams, insinuating possible age fraud among the opposing players. “There is no equality of forces. You saw, we couldn’t do anything because they were not U17 children. We couldn’t do anything. And to avoid damage, we had to play all in our camp to avoid catastrophe,” he said after the match.
In spite this crushing defeat, the Central African Republic remains determined to recover. “We have to get back up because it’s true we fell today, we have two matches left,” added the coach, emphasizing the need to work for the upcoming games
