SAMUEL ETO’O WINS ANOTHER COURT CASE AGAINST CAF 

The CAF Appeal Board has annulled all sanctions previously imposed on FECAFOOT President Samuel Eto’o, according to a statement issued by the Cameroon Football Federation on August 5, 2026.

The case stemmed from Match No. 46 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations between Cameroon and Morocco, played on January 9, 2026.

In its initial ruling, CAF’s Disciplinary Board had found Eto’o guilty of violating principles of loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship. He was handed a four-match stadium ban for CAF competitions and fined US$20,000.

However, the CAF Appeal Board has now overturned that decision, cancelling the sanctions and all related legal effects.

Reacting to the ruling, FECAFOOT welcomed the decision, describing it as a demonstration of the Appeal Board’s independence and commitment to applying the law objectively. The federation also reaffirmed its confidence in CAF’s judicial bodies.
