Comparing Cameroon’s BIYACRAZY and Senegal’s DEMOCRACY. A VEXING AND DISHONEST INTELLECTUAL EXERCISE
Some Cameroonians are intellectually dishonest. You can’t attempt to compare a car that has been on the road for years with a car that has never been on the road. These are two distinct experiences. Recent political events in Senegal are rather symptoms or signals of a vibrant democracy. The Senegalese should be proud of themselves. Their leaders are the outcome of their will or wish. It’s their choice. This is a country with a functional and vibrant democracy. The key Republican institutions portray a clear and convincing aspect of separation of powers. The Senegalese democracy is like a tree that produces fruit. What obtains in Cameroon is like a barren tree that produces no fruit. The Senegalese democracy has led to a systematic change of leadership. What obtains in Cameroon is simply the opposite. A Biyacrazy that firmly precludes any change or the expression of the people’s will. Cameroonians should rather seek to learn from the Senegalese experience if truly they aspire and cherish to one day live in a democracy. Seeking any parallel comparison is an exercise steeped in dishonesty and mischief.
