ANGLOPHONES ARE UNIONISTS DIVIDED OVER THE ISSUE OF THE FORM OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT OF LA RÉPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN,   WHILE SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS / AMBAZONIANS ARE INDEPENDENTISTS UNITED UNDER THE RESTORED GOVERNMENT OF THE SOUTHERN CAMEROONS AMBAZONIA FOR THE TOTAL INDEPENDENCE AND SOVEREIGNTY OF THE STATE OF SOUTHERN CAMEROONS AS PER UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION 1608 – 04 – 1961.

DECODING THE JUNE 1ST EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 002/2024/QUIT NOTICE

SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS / AMBAZONIANS, AVOID AND REJECT DISTRACTIONS FROM  UNIONISTS. OUR STRUGGLE FOR TOTAL FREEDOM FROM OVER 63 YEARS OF COLONIAL OCCUPATION, EXPLOITATION AND ENSLAVEMENT IN OUR OWN ANCESTRAL HOMELAND UNDER COLONIAL FRENCH CAMEROUN .

Today, our relationship with la République du Cameroun is made up of TWO CAMPS ONLY: UNIONISTS and INDEPENDENTISTS.

UNIONISTS: Are those who want to remain in the failed 1961 union with la République du Cameroun. Unionists refer to themselves as Anglophones, Northwesterners, and SouthWesterners and we  indepentistists call them blacklegs, enablers, traitors, sellouts and crumbs eaters.

The UNIONISTS vision and goal is THE FORM OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT OF COLONIAL LA RÉPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN. and not of the Southern Cameroons aka Ambazonia as an independent country exercising total sovereignty over it territory as obtained on its date of Independence of 01 October 1961 in accordance with UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION 1608 of 21-04-1961.

The so called unionists   are very divided.  We have federal Unionists who want a federal form of government, be it two states, four states, ten states within la République du Cameroun.  We also have special status Unionists, decentralization Unionists, Confederate Unionists, Devolution Unionists, Centrist Unionists, and those who believe in the present status quo that the form of the state should not change.

INDEPENDENTISTS, on the other hand, are those who WANT TOTAL FREEDOM OF SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS -AMBAZONIANS  from over 63 years of colonial occupation, exploitation and enslavement in their own God given ancestral homeland which has been under colonial, parasite and genocidal French Cameroun. Independentists want a free, independent, and Sovereign Southern Cameroons.

While independentists refer to themselves as Southern Cameroonians or restorationists or Ambazonians, the Unionists call them separatists, Ambazonians and terrorists in their own ancestral land.

Independentists are united and focused in their demand that  la République du Cameroun must respect her international boundaries as obtained and frozen on its date of  independence  of January 1st 1960 and as ratified with the African Union Constitutive Act article 4B.

Hope this write up gives you the necessary clarifications on the fallacious claim by colonial and genocidal French Cameroun agents who sing every day that  “Anglophones are divided, don’t know what they want “. Let Munzu, Balla, Ngolle Ngolle, Dion Ngute, Atanga Nji, Kamto etc learn.

There is no division amongst Southern Cameroonians aka Ambazonians who want total sovereignty for their country the Southern Cameroons and the freedom of the people of the Southern Cameroons/ Ambazonia from colonial occupation, exploitation and enslavement in their own God given ancestral homeland under colonial, parasite and genocidal French Cameroun.

If  there is any division, that division is amongst  the various factions of UNIONISTS, some  who are federalists, some others for special status , some others for decentralization and some others for  centralization or even total assimilation or enslavement of the people of the Southern Cameroons by colonial French Cameroun.

In summary ANGLOPHONES ARE UNIONISTS DIVIDED OVER THE ISSUE OF THE FORM OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT OF LA RÉPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN,   WHILE SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS / AMBAZONIANS ARE INDEPENDENTISTS UNITED UNDER THE RESTORED GOVERNMENT OF THE SOUTHERN CAMEROONS AMBAZONIA FOR THE TOTAL INDEPENDENCE AND SOVEREIGNTY OF THE STATE OF SOUTHERN CAMEROONS AS PER UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION 1608 – 04 – 1961  .

Thanks UN.

June 4th,  2024 @highlight

If Yaoundé thought that Ambazonia was not involved in a liberation war, now is the time to tell themselves the truth. The June 1st 2024 Executive Order/Quit Notice signed by the President of the Federal Republic of Southern Cameroons (Ambazonia) brings the war message home to the appropriate quarters in the loudest manner possible. It is a decision long pondered over. Can we fight to liberate an annexed or recolonised territory while wining and dining with the colonial master, his children, or representatives on our territory? Can we defeat them while at the same time giving them laissez-passez in the territory, to move around and do as it pleases them? Let us examine those targeted by the Quit Notice/Eviction Order closely in the light of their responsibility in subjugating our people, in commanding the enemy’s war and in aiding and abetting the same.

COLONIAL GOVERNORS, PREFECTS, AND SUB PREFECTS

In LRC common administrative parlance, the above officers are the personal representatives of the Colonial LRC president and Commander-in-Chief of the colonial military in Ambazonia. The colonial police and army CANNOT invade a community without their express written instructions. Though requested by the then Buea University Vice Chancellor, Nalova Lyonga, it required the written authorisation of the colonial governor in Buea for the military to enter the campus of that university in 2016, to raid student residential areas, to torture and rape our daughters. Without express instructions from these officials commonly referred to in French as “le commandement”, the police or troops will NEVER leave their barracks. Evicted from the territory, the military will have nobody to give them orders. While they stay on the territory and mingle with the people, the “commandement” coordinates information gathering and passes the same to the commanders of their slaughter machinery. It is time they were violently evicted.

THE MILITARY AND POLICE

These are the visible arms of LRC’S war in Ambazonia and those the Ambazonian State Army has been confronting in guerrilla battles for the past seven years. Once their administrative commanders are evicted, they will be directly responsible for their atrocities on the territory when judgement time comes and that will not delay. The Moja Moja arrest and ICC pressure on Yaoundé is a fair warning. A word to the wise is sufficient.

COLONIAL LEGISLATORS, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES, ELECTIONS, TAXATION OFFICIALS ETC.

Simply put, these are collaborators, traitors and enablers of the genocide taking place in Ambazonia. Considering that no election has taken place on the territory since the liberation war started in 2017, these individuals who willingly sided with the enemy, offering themselves to be used as screen shields by our enemy to deceive the international community, have made themselves legitimate targets of war. They are the link between the colonial administration or “le commandement” and the colonial military and police forces. They collect taxes from our people to finance the enemy’s war against them. Taken out, the colonial information relay chain would be greatly ruptured and money for their war chest collected from the territory suppressed.

THE QUIT NOTICE

The June 1st Quit Notice is a more than fair and considerate decision taken by a competent and humane military Commander-in-Chief. Time is running out for the targeted colonial war administrative machinery. They have until midnight of June 7th 2024 to resign from their positions or and quit the Ambazonian territory altogether, they and members of their families. All LRC citizens serving the colonial administration on the Ambazonian territory must pack out before midnight of June 7th 2024.

If you are Ambazonian, whether you are in support of the people’s quest for freedom or are an enabler, you owe your family members who work for the colonial administration on the Home Front in one of the capacities listed in the Presidential Executive Order the filial duty to inform and or warn them. This is no joking matter; the fair quit notice will soon expire

COMMENT EST-CE QUE LE MINISTRE DE LA JEUNESSE ET DES SPORTS MICHEL NJIENSI AVAIT ÉTÉ LIMOGÉ EN 1971 PAR LE PRÉSIDENT AHIDJO APRÈS AVOIR VOULU  “DÉTRIBALISER” LE FOOTBALL.

LISONS CET EXTRAIT TIRÉ DU LIVRE :” LE LIMOGEAGE DU MINISTRE NJIENSI MICHEL QUI DÉCIDA DE ” DETRIBALISER” LE FOOTBALL ”

PAR DIEUDONNÉ ENOH MEYOMESSE.

I, Yaoundé II, Yaoundé III, Douala I, Douala II, Douala III, etc.

« A bas Njiensi, vive Oryx club »,

« A bas Njensi, vive Caïman club »,

« A bas Njiensi, vive Léopard »,

Samuel Eto’o Fils is the elected head of the organization responsible for the management of football in Cameroun according to the rules and regulations of FIFA and CAF and the laws of the Republic of Cameroun.

Ever since the beginning of the FECAFOOT / MINSEP saga, Samuel Eto’o Fils  has respected the provisions of FIFA and CAF regulations and the laws of the Républic of Cameroon governing the management of football in Cameroun.

On the contrary, the authors of the dubious High Instructions are those who have violated the laws.

For your information, there is no disposition in the Constitution of the Republic of Cameroun that provides that Cameroun shall be governed through High Instructions, the reason why the Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals recently sent out a circular letter to all personal of the ministry of Justice to ignore anything called very High Instructions from whoever.

How can we say Cameroun is a state of law, yet we applaud those who use dubious illegal High Instructions to violate those same laws?

The referendum of 20 May 1972, celebrated each year on May 20th, was unconstitutional

1.1. If a country wants to sustainably attain political stability and prosperity, it must adhere to constitutional democracy. There are many reasons to demonstrate that the 1972 referendum was unconstitutional but today, we want to focus on the actions leading up to the referendum itself. Other reasons include violation of article 47 in terms of implicit protection of the federal system and protection of a vulnerable minority.

1.2. Many defenders of the 1972 referendum have deceived Cameroonians, especially Francophone Cameroonians into believing that the referendum was constitutional. They do so by clinging to article 2, which establishes the principle of popular sovereignty. If we first clarify what this popular sovereignty means for us, then we will see that the sham carried out in 1972 was unconstitutional.

1.3. True exercise of popular sovereignty requires that elections and referenda be preceded by rigorous debates guided by freedom of conscience. Even those who object to a near unanimous proposal can help the society refine that proposal toward greater impact. This means that a true choice exists where people are free to represent the different options available. This requires time and access to mass media.

Also crucially important, the secret ballot used to determine the general will must be treated as sacred. Nobody is to assume foreknowledge of how people will vote.

1.4. With respect to the above, the unconstitutionality of the 1972 referendum can be demonstrated solely by focusing on articles 2.1 and 2.2 of the 1961 Federal Constitution.

1.4.1. By virtue of the fact that Mr. Ahidjo announced his intention to hold a referendum on May 9th and held the referendum on May 20th, it is obvious that the pre-requisite free debate and study of this significant issue could not be done within such a time. In many parts of the country, the citizens, who are the true sovereign, did not know what the referendum question was about and how it would impact them. Further, Ndeh Ntumasah, reports that S.T. Muna reported Foncha, Jua, and Victor Mukete to Ahidjo for holding anti-unitary state views and they were briefly locked up. These men and any who had any desire to campaign for preservation of the federal system could not freely enlighten the people. Those poet laureats of dictatorship posing as historians fail to see this simple fact that popular sovereignty demands that a vote be preceded by an informed and free debate. A single narrative, conceived by a single individual and his associates, was propagated in the name of referendum campaign within the laughable period of less than two weeks. Constitutional amendments are not whimsical projects.

1.4.2. The most damning fact that establishes the unconstitutionality of the referendum on the strength of article 2 alone is that the vote is that the results do not reflect the will of the people. Two main reasons account for this. The first is the deliberate alteration of results to boost the number of votes for the unitary state. CCAST Bambili is one example of such coercive fraud.

We have recently learned from Barrister Timothy Mbeassah that there is some truth to the claim by some that they were only given one ballot to vote yes. This Barrister went to vote at the polling station at Bonjongo Customary Court, together with his high school classmates. Most of them resolved to vote against the suppression of federalism. When they asked for the Black ballot which signified NO, they were told there are no such ballots. When they insisted, they threatened to arrest them on the charge of “trouble a l’ordre publique”. Only a timely intervention by their principal saved them from arrest.

1.4.3. The polling officers at Bonjongo customary court claimed that the black ballots signifying NO had all been used up. This practice cannot be said to align with the principle of popular sovereignty. The choice was pre-made by the president whose “profound conviction” had led him to devise the referendum to hide his haute instruction.

1.4.4. How many black ballots were circulated? One needs to look at the results to see how fraudulent these people were.

The official fraudulent results show that 3 177 846 voted in favour of the president’s “profound conviction”. Only 176 voted against, using the black ballots. 1612 votes were invalid.

It is alleged by Barrister Timothy Mbeassah that when the results of Fako were announced, only 90 black votes had been cast. This means that of the 176 votes cast against suppression of federalism, half of them were cast in Fako. As for the barrister and his classmates, they decided not to vote. They went home. But the high voter turnout of 98.2% probably means that the Barrister and his classmates were automatically counted as voting in favour.

In many other parts of the country, it is reasonable to believe that the people simply nodded to the “haute instruction” and “profonde conviction” of Mr. Ahmadou Ahidjo.

2. From the above, dear Francophone brothers and sisters, you should understand that Anglophones feel cheated and trapped in a system where voting does not matter. This is problematic for them. From 1955 to the Plebiscite in 1961, Anglophones experience a peaceful transfer of power from a defeated Dr. Endeley to Dr. Foncha. Dr. Endeley’s government didn’t rig the election as was done in French Cameroon to deny Um Nyobe political victory. In 1961, they experienced a peaceful and transparent election in which the majority chose to join French Cameroon. The entrenched fraud in Cameroon is a French legacy.

So, when an Anglophone says there was only one ballot in 1972 or that there was fraud or that those who wanted to preserve federalism were intimidated, you should take them seriously. Yes, some Cameroonians saw two ballots – Yes and No, but others were only given one ballot – Yes. Even some who voted “NO”, saw their votes changed.

Let us go out and massively register to vote. Cameroonians who want the best for our country realize that federalism is the way forward. We can obtain that federalism peacefully. The key is to register to vote, vote massively, anticipate, and combat electoral fraud, by all means, defending the true principle of popular sovereignty.

May God bless you and save Cameroon through a return to the unconstitutionally suppressed federalism.

Maurice Kamto, President of MRC Party in his recent press conference caught onTV tells Atanga Nji that he does not have monopoly of violence. In a fiery Press Conference, he crucifies the Director of Elecam, the Minister of Territorial Administration and other RDPC overzealous Administrators and their surrogates. He says 2025 will prove that Cameroonians are sick and tired of their shenanigans, theft, garbage, lies, corruption, killings and bad governance for the past fifty years

The truth?

Most of us reading this missive now will die without understanding the country called Cameroon.

Now see whether you understand this story.

Hon Cabral Libii was a part-time benevolent (unpaid) Lecturer at Soa. He created his NGO called “Onze Millions des Camerounais”. He met with the Minister in charge of Licensure of Associations. At that time, the Minister was still a normal human being, because he had not been transformed into Moulinex.

Cabal told him “Mon but c’est d’enregistrer beaucoup des jeunes pour voter le President Paul Biya”. The plaba sweet Atanga Nji sotey in one week, Cabral got his papers.

That was good music in the ears of ambitious Cabral. The Minister asked him to contact the owner of a certain dormant Party called PCRN. The original owner of the Party agreed but with a caveat “Tout vos Deputes et Maires, si vous gagnez, doivent verser une somme de…” Long story short, Cabral, his girl friend and two other Bassa guys became Deputes.

Then he started acting funny. He started going around giving speeches claiming immunity as Depute de la Nation. He forgot that his real boss had acquired a strange new title: MOULINEX.

According to his agreement with Minat, he was supposed to be a CPDM surrogate but he was going in all directions and criticizing the ruling Party publicly. As usual, Minat swung into action. The owner of the PCRN (the Party Cabral borrowed to enter Parluament) officially sacked him and his other friends warning them to never use the name PCRN ever again.

Last week, the PCRN (a Bassa Party) had their annual Congress in a village called Guidiguis in The Far North Region with one main agenda ‘a l’ordre du jour

Over 100 pupils absent from First School exams in Donga Mantung

Authorities have reported nearly 110 absences from  First School Leaving Certificate   (FSLC) examinations in Donga Mantung Division of the North west region where the armed conflict and the recent bomb explosion planted on 11 February in complicity with members of the  government forces, the CPDM elite and their vigilante groups that killed seven including a student has installed fears.

Worthy to note that in respect of the Monday ghost days established by the Southern Cameroons Government, Federal republic of Ambazonia in honour of her war victims even the LRC respects this day, reason why the two-day exam kicked off nationwide (in Ambazonia and LRC) this Tuesday, with 148,000 candidates sitting in for English and Mathematics papers 1 and 2.

More than 200,000 candidates also sat in for the Certificat d’Etudes Premaire (CEP) exam written by pupils of the French Cameroun.

These exams taken by Class Six pupils are necessary to qualify the children for secondary education.

Kevin Njodzeka, the North West Regional Delegate for Basic Education, told CRTV no security threats were recorded at examination centres in the Northern zone of Ambazonia but significant absences were registered in Donga Mantung. And the absences could be blamed on the ongoing war.

“The only problem where we don’t know what is happening is in Donga Mantung where close to 110 candidates are absent from the exam. But it could also be the children have moved out of the Region,” Mr Njodzeka said.

The regional delegate suspected that many parents could have taken their children out of Donga Mantung to write the exams over fears of the unknown.

The area, which was once considered a peace haven in the troubled Ambazonia, has come under serious attacks from both government and its proxy ADF this year.

In Ambazonia’s Southern zone, where more than 29,000 pupils are writing the exams, a 6 percent increase was noted in the enrolment, according to official data. Over 30,000 candidates are writing the exams in Amazonian’s northern zone.

The government of the Southern Cameroons, Federal republic of Ambazonia in exile has condemned ADF and Cho Ayaba’s anti Ambazonian acts of attacking taxis, destroying some and forcing a suffering people to pay an extortionist tax

Fellow Ambazonians.

It has come to the attention of the gov’t of the FRA and to the ANSC that the occupier and her collaborators are forcing taxi drivers in Ambazonia to paint their taxis in blue and white colors.

Our investigations reveal that the aim of this policy is to inflict severe pain on the people of Ambazonia with the goal to force them to turn against the Ambabonia’s genuine quest for total sovereignty and freedom.

The gov’t of the FRA and the ANSC distance itself from such diabolic strategy from the enemies of our God ordained struggle. This type of strategy is dangerous,  unproductive, and anti-revolutionary. It must be condemned, rebuked, and resisted by all freedom-loving Ambazonians.

The gov’t of the FRA reiterates its support for the ban on the circulation of all motor vehicles within B’da I, B’da II & B’da III, from 6 pm to 6 am until further notice. This ban does not include the circulation of ambulances and clearly marked emergency vehicles.

This specific ban on the circulation of motor vehicles within the B’da municipality was instituted to send a strong message to the colonial occupier and her proxies that their presence in Ambazonia is illegal and so they have no authority to ban the circulation of motorbikes in the B’da municipality or any part of Ambazonia. The colonial occupier must retreat to her territorial boundaries as of her independence on January 1, 1960.

Long live the FRA. Short live the struggle.

Signed, the ANSC

OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE

Moja Moja has been denied bail for the second time.

According to Senator Mbella Moki Charles of Cameroon, all attempts to secure bail for the unconvicted individual have been unsuccessful.

In a message to the South West Leaders Association (SWELA) WhatsApp group, Senator Moki stated that Moja Moja is considered a high-risk individual and is wanted by Interpol. If arrested and interrogated by Interpol, he could further jeopardise the Cameroon military.

The Senator further noted, “The International Criminal Court (ICC) has already instructed Cameroon to arrest Chief Ewome Eko John in good faith, warning that failure to do so could result in the indictment of the Cameroon military for violating the Geneva Conventions and its two additional protocols.”

“There is no indication that he will be released. He remains isolated in a confined prison cell,” Senator Moki added.

NOTE: The principle in international law that allows the International Criminal Court (ICC) not to indict a state if it has already taken action against its military in good faith is known as the principle of complementarity.

NOTE: The ICC operates on the principle of complementarity, which is enshrined in Article 17 of the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the ICC. This principle means that the ICC is intended to complement, not replace, national criminal justice systems. The Court will only prosecute cases if national jurisdictions are unwilling or unable to genuinely carry out investigations or prosecutions.

NOTE: Under this principle, if a state is investigating or prosecuting a case in good faith, the ICC will defer to the state’s proceedings. This respects the sovereignty of national legal systems and encourages states to take responsibility for prosecuting crimes that fall under the ICC’s jurisdiction, such as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression.

NOTE: Key elements of complementarity include:

1. Willingness:The national proceedings must not be undertaken to shield the person from criminal responsibility or be otherwise intended to obstruct justice.

2. Genuineness: The national proceedings must be genuine and not a sham or superficial.

3. Ability: The state must have the capacity to carry out the proceedings.

NOTE: If the ICC determines that a state is taking genuine and effective action in good faith to investigate or prosecute individuals for serious international crimes, the ICC will not intervene. This principle aims to promote national accountability and ensure that the ICC acts as a court of last resort

The statement from Senator Mbella Moki Charles lamenting the refusal of bail to Moja Moja during a “SWELA” gathering means that the latter attempted to bail out one of theirs and failed. Is this for real? Is Mbella Moki oblivious to the crimes this fellow committed or is it that the lawmaker and the Colonial elite supported the commission of these crimes? If He or they did, then they are liable for prosecution under the same Rome Statute as accomplices to war crimes. After all, did Sergeant Moja Moja not declare that he received instructions from higher ups in the military and government? Who are these and how did they get to Moja?

Some of those directly responsible and liable for arrest and prosecution as accomplices are Colonial Governor, Okolia Bilai, the Colonial Military Prosecutor (Commissaire du Gouvernement) and the entire Military and Security apparatuses under Governor Bilai that ignored and collaborated with him in the commission of these crimes. It should be recalled that Moja Moja, a military sub officer killed and tortured peaceful denizens of Buea and its environs without any intervention of the administrative and military hierarchy of the Colonial region, arrested and detained many in police stations and had his victims prosecuted and sentenced for crimes they did not commit and these for over four years. Rather, several times, we saw him receiving felicitations from LRC’s Prime Minister, Chief Dr Dion Ngute in the heat of his atrocities. If La Republique du Cameroun is not shielding Moja Moja or attempting to obstruct international justice, all of Moja Moja’s accomplices and partners in crimes should be arrested and prosecuted alongside him in respect of the Rome Statute.

Failing the arrest and prosecution of chief Moja Moja’s accomplices and partners in crime some of whom are listed above, the ICC should find Yaoundé incompetent, unwilling, or lacking genuineness in the trial and prosecution of war crimes committed by its own soldiers. To my understanding, Yaoundé has already fallen short of all three counts because Moja Moja’s crimes were not hidden. Rather, they received wide publication by the media while Yaoundé and its ensigns in the territory refused to arrest the situation until put under pressure by the international community. The arrest and detention of Sergeant Moja Ewome therefore was not carried out in good faith. It is a cover up.

LRC, in arresting Moja Moja, incontrovertibly aims at obstructing justice, for they are afraid of him revealing his accomplices, sponsors and other hidden crimes. Do not be surprised if you hear that Moja Moja has suddenly died in custody. So, there is no element of willingness on the part of the rogue regime of Yaoundé, and therefore, the “national proceedings” are sham, superficial and totally devoid of the element of genuineness. In conclusion, LRC lacks the capacity to prosecute, not only Moja Moja, but any other person involved in war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and gross human rights violations. To begin with, it’s the regime itself that declared genocide on the Ambazonian people. How would it (the same regime) be the willing, genuine and able judge or prosecutor of those who execute its orders? And is Moja Moja alone responsible for the mass murder of the over 75,000 innocent people in the Southern Cameroons? Where are the others? The regime is shielding them and scapegoating Moja Moja. For the ICC to trust that LRC to prosecute these criminals would be a monumental blunder of epic proportions.

Nigeria:

Bola Tinubu clocks one year in power

One year since Bola Tinubu came to power many Nigerians think that his promise of “renewed hope” is still largely unfulfilled. He came to power during very challenging moments for Africa’s most populous country but he still promised renewal of hope. This promise left some denizens hopeful about improvements and sceptics doubting the government’s potentials. Unfortunately the significant spike in petrol prices led to increased cost of goods and services nationwide, has further compounded the disposable income for most citizens until most of them describe the last one year as that of untold hardship.

Tinubu’s manifesto prioritized creating jobs and boasting local production of goods, investing in agriculture and public infrastructure, and enhancing national security. Many believe Tinubu has  failed because critics say his first year has been marked by policymaking and reforms aimed at addressing Nigeria’s multifaceted challenges that made progress uneven.

Economic recovery has been slow with many Nigerians still struggling with inflation and unemployment. Security challenges persist in several regions and some people argue that the pace of infrastructural development and anti corruption efforts have to be accelerated.

However economic analysts note that while there have been strides in certain areas, significant work remains to fully realise the government’s goal of improving the lives of Nigerians.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), in its latest report, has ranked Cameroon as the world’s second-most neglected displacement crisis country.

The situation the Cameroons is worrisome. According to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s (NRC) Annual Report 2023, the Cameroons is currently responding to three humanitarian crises simultaneously in the Far North and East regions of the la republique du Cameroun, in the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia . As of 31st December 2023, these crises had led to the displacement of over 1.4 million people within the Cameroons.Despite the severity of the situation, as of December 2023, only 31% of the Humanitarian Response Plan was funded. This lack of attention and funding has led the NRC to rank the Cameroons among the most neglected displacement crises in the world. education. However. The NRC’s report highlights the resilience of the people of Cameroon and pledges continued support. It’s crucial that this situation receives the attention it deserves to ensure that the people of the Cameroons receive the help they need.

The main causes of displacement in Cameroon are multifaceted and include the following:

The majority of displacements in the Cameroons are associated with conflict and violence, particularly in the Far North, and the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia. This includes attacks on villages and the destruction of houses.

These factors have led to significant internal displacement within the Cameroons, with over 1.4 million people displaced as of the end of 2023. The situation is complex and requires a multifaceted approach to address the root causes and provide support for those affected.

The NRC information is contained in its neglected displacement crises list for 2023, released on Monday, June 3, which analyzes 39 displacement crises based on three criteria: lack of funding, lack of media attention, and lack of international political and diplomatic initiatives.

The Central African Nation (la republique du Cameroun) is plagued by the continuous war in the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia, that has claimed over 50.000 lives displaced millions as refugees, burnt over 600 homes and villages coupled with the war against Boko Haram group in the Far North Region.

In both conflicts, civilians have been frequently targeted by the state and non-state armed groups, causing many to flee their homes.

Surging violence in the Lake Chad Basin area as well as the influx of refugees from neighbouring countries have added the displacements and destruction caused by the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia war of independence.

The NRC says the number of internally displaced people in the country will reach 1.1 million by the end of this year, coupled with the influx of half a million refugees from neighboring Central African Republic. This has put a strain on the available resources.

“People in the Far North region and the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia struggled to find safety amid human rights violations, including killings and abductions,” the NRC report said.

“Meanwhile, access to food, water, and basic healthcare was limited across the Cameroons. The protracted crisis is increasingly taking on a socioeconomic dimension, with every sector of the economy affected and rising food prices exacerbating rampant food insecurity. At least 2.5 million people are dangerously short of food.

“A total of 4.7 million people required aid in 2023, while funds remained limited. Only 32 percent of the humanitarian response plan was covered by international donors, the lowest rate since 2016. This left hundreds of thousands of people without lifesaving support and protection services, including basic services such as health and education and legal aid to help them secure essential documents and land and property rights,” it added.

However, three crises engulfing the Cameroons remain off the map, and the situation threatens to stagnate.

Rising levels of unaddressed needs, coupled with a lethargic response from the international community mean that more challenging times await the Cameroons in 2024.

The NRC report ranked the Cameroons second after Burkina Faso, in terms of neglected crises, followed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Niger, Honduras, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Chad, and lastly, Sudan.

The NRC rankings show that the humanitarian situation in Cameroon has been fluctuating. In 2022, the country occupied the 7th position in NRC’s rankings of the world’s most neglected crises. It came 3rd in 2021, 2nd in 2020, after topping the list in 2018 and 2019.

The NRC’s Secretary General, Jan Egeland, said the utter neglect of displaced people has become the new normal.

“The local political and military elites disregard the suffering they cause, and the world is neither shocked nor compelled to act by stories of desperation and record-breaking statistics. We need a global reboot of solidarity and a refocus on where needs are greatest,” said Egeland.

Globally, the NRC said in 2023, the shortfall between humanitarian appeals and money actually received amounted to $32 billion—$10 billion higher than in 2022.

That vast deficit meant 57 percent of needs remained unmet. While the funding gap is large, it is far from impossible to close.

If each of the five most profitable listed companies worldwide contributed just five percent of their 2023 profits, the funding gap could be matched in a second.

The community’s plight highlights a growing demand for accountability and human rights protection in the Southern Cameroons – Ambazonia, where armed conflict has triggered gross human rights abuses against civilians orchestrated largely by the ADF and the annexationist military.
