The Pope has zero influence in stopping the war in the Southern Cameroons, Federal Republic of Ambazonia. Prayers have zero influence. Even Ambazonian fighters and French Cameroun soldiers have limited influence on ending the war. Wars always end through negotiations between both parties, the belligerent parties. They don’t end on social media or through prayers.
The US, Iran, Israel, and Lebanon leaders are trying to end their differences through negotiations, not through the pope’s words or prayers.
If you think war can end without negotiations, compromise, and justice, then you are wasting your time. Only leaders on both sides who are in positions of power can end the war. No amount of arrests can end the war.
You cannot shoot your way to peace, nor can you pray your way out of a war. The only way out is the hard way, dialogue, compromise, and a table with both sides sitting on it.
Dela Nganguh,
The old broom.
