Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, Ya Imam Abubakr,

I am writing regarding your recent theological statement referring to the Pope as “God’s representative.” This wording contradicts tawheed and comes dangerously close to shirk

1. Islamically: “Allah there is no deity except Him”[Qur’an 2:255]. And our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is _“the Messenger of Allah and last of the prophets” [Qur’an 33:40]. No human after him is a Rasul or a nabi, and no created being represents Allah’s essence.

2. Factually: Even Catholicism does not claim this. The Pope is _Vicar of Christ_, not Vicar of Yahweh. Most other Christians hold _“Christ is the head of the church”_ [Ephesians 5:23], with no human vicar.

Ya Imam, so what you delivered as a speech is truly what you would tell Allah if His representative stood before you? Not a mention of even your Muslim brothers and sisters in Jail? Or the root cause of the conflict?

For the sake of _aqeedah_ and the trust of the Ummah you lead, I am asking you to publicly render an apology and retraction.

May Allah forgive us all, guide us, and keep us firm upon the truth. I pray you will address this promptly for the sake of clarity and unity
