A swift operation saves lives and pushes back insurgents. Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed four Boko Haram terrorists and rescued three kidnapped victims during a coordinated operation in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to security sources, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 12 following reports of suspicious movement along the Damboa–Chibok axis.

Soldiers of the 115 Task Force Battalion, who were positioned in an ambush at Mussa, engaged the insurgents after making contact. The troops reportedly opened fire, killing four terrorists and forcing others to retreat while abandoning weapons and equipment.

In a follow-up operation conducted hours later near Old Hyum, troops successfully rescued three kidnapped victims from a suspected terrorist hideout.

The victims, identified as members of the Fulani community from Lagunasa in Askira Uba, are currently receiving care.

Military sources say clearance operations are ongoing in the area as efforts continue to dismantle terrorist networks and secure surrounding communities.
