WHY DID THE ARCHBISHOP OF YAOUNDE ‘S DOVE REFUSE TO FLY?
NATURE AS A PEDAGOGUE AND WHY THE ARCH BISHOPS DOVE THAT REFUSED TO FLY: The visit of the Pope has witnessed a quasi pantheism in the church as prelates seemed to see nature as a synonym for God. Let it be stated that in Catholic Theology, Nature is only a medium for divine revelation, as God did to Moses in THE BURNING BUSH. NATURE IS NOT GOD. Since pristine nature is a DIVINE MILIEU for the African, nature can be a pedagogic tool for sound Catechesis. This is why the African Archbishop chose a dove, not an owl, as a symbol of peace in Bamenda. As if in cosmic confirmation and epistemological alignment with divine presence in nature, the doves in Bamenda all soared into the boundless azure world like stars on a blue flag. Those who read the omens and portents of the land could not fail to see the analogy of proportionality between the 7 doves in the Bamenda skies with the 7 years of war, the 7 Sacraments church and the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. AND THE DOVE PIETY CAME BACK HOME IN PEACE like the Dove of Noah. Perfect use of nature in a catechesis for peace by the Pope in Bamenda. The problem now came with the Archbishop of Yaounde, whose Dove refused to fly after desperate attempts to force it. Why did the spiritual bird refuse to fly in Yaounde, unlike its peer in Bamenda, whereas all the churchmen were preaching the same Gospel of peace? This question nags the African Metaphysical mind ad nauseam because nothing happens in the African Cosmology by Chance. In Africa world of Vital Forces, Nature as a pedagogue does not lie.
