2024 LABOUR DAY MESSAGE FROM H E PRESIDENT SAKO TO SOUTHERN CAMEROONIANS AKA AMBAZONIANS

My Fellow Labourers, Patriots, and Resilient Souls of Ambazonia,
Today, as we mark International Labour Day, we gather not just to celebrate labour’s contribution to nation-building but to acknowledge the profound sacrifices you make daily in the face of unprecedented challenges. Our land, rich in heritage and resources, stands at a crucial juncture, embroiled in a relentless battle against the belligerent occupation of French Cameroun. Yet, amidst this tumult, your spirit remains unbroken, your resolve unwavering.
I stand before you not just as a leader, but as a fellow Ambazonian, deeply moved by the hardships you endure. The absurdly high colonial tax system, the cumbersome trade restrictions, the targeting of our cherished business owners, and the systematic destruction of our institutions like the Tole Tea Estate, Southern Cameroons Marketing Board, Southern Cameroons Bank, and our vibrant cocoa, banana, palm nut, and plantain plantations speak of a deliberate attempt not to cripple our economy but mostly to weaken us as a people. But let it be known — they may keep trying to break our spirit, but they will never succeed.
I see the pain in the eyes of those who labour from dawn till dusk, fighting not just for survival but for the soul of Ambazonia. It’s a battle on two fronts — against economic strangulation and for our existential right to self-determination. Yet, in this dark hour, let us find solace in the unwavering belief that dawn is near.
My beloved Ambazonians, let me reignite the flame of hope within you. Our journey has been long, our sacrifices many, but I assure you, our resolve to restore and rebuild is stronger than ever. The institutions that were the lifeblood of our economy, which have suffered under the yoke of occupation, will not only be reinstated but will flourish anew. The Tole Tea Estate, the Southern Cameroons Marketing Board, the Southern Cameroons Bank, and our plantations will rise from the ashes, more vibrant and productive than ever before.
As we stand on the brink of realizing our restored independence, envision with me a new Ambazonia — a nation rapidly industrialized, meeting and exceeding international standards, competitive on the global stage. Our vision is clear; through industrialization, not only will we secure economic independence, but we will also herald an era of unprecedented job creation. Unemployment will become a relic of the past as our government takes on the mantle of ensuring job creation and economic stability for all.
To our industrious entrepreneurs and hardworking farmers, know this — the future holds a promise of low-interest loans designed to invigorate your ventures, fueling not just the economy, but also the dreams and aspirations of countless Ambazonians.
We are on the cusp of a new dawn, one where every drop of sweat, every tear shed, and every sacrifice made paves the way for a brighter, more prosperous Ambazonia. Our resilience has been our shield, our faith our weapon. Let us march forward, not as labourers of a beleaguered land, but as architects of our destiny.
As your President during this critical time of war, but most importantly, as your fellow compatriot, I pledge to continuously serve with integrity, to stand by you through every trial and triumph, and to tirelessly work towards the realization of our collective aspirations.
Together, My Fellow Ambazonians, let us build a beacon of hope, a testament to the indomitable spirit of our people.
Happy International Labour Day!
Short live the war, Long Live Ambazonia!
God bless you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Ambazonia.
President Samuel Ikome Sako
