Pastor dies in the course of fasting
A revival church pastor has been found dead at the entrance to his home in Sangmelima after reportedly refusing food and water for several days.
The deceased, identified as Mbang Florent, was said to have embarked on an extended fast as part of what he described as a spiritual battle.
Members of his congregation reportedly became concerned as his physical condition deteriorated and advised him to seek medical attention, but he declined.
Local sources said the pastor had hoped to complete 40 days and nights of fasting before he was later discovered dead outside his residence.
The exact medical cause of his death has not been officially established.
The incident has renewed concerns over prolonged fasting without food or water and the need to seek urgent medical assistance when serious symptoms appear.
