Faithful Mobilized to Prevent Collapse of CBC and CBCHS Institutions
It has been a while since we, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS made an outing on the disgraceful happenings
that have been ongoing within this once mighty CBC. This has been so for two main reasons:
– The matters of the church are now being listened to by the competent courts in the country
– We needed time to collect facts concerning the kind of leader the sitting DHS of the medical
service is.
As we all know, much water has since gone under the bridge already. The competent courts are struggling
to answer the legality question to begin finding ways to unravel the several layers of constitutional
violations that were master-minded and carefully executed by the sitting EP and CBC Board Chair –
violations which have given the CBC a very bad image before the state, stakeholders and partners.
In this whole struggle, we, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS are carefully monitoring the EP and Chairman
who have been up and down trying to leverage any opportunity to either influence and or manipulate
those with “hidden power” to twist the process and or intimidate the plaintiffs to simply withdraw the case.
The plaintiffs have been threatened, coaxed and attempted to be bribed unsuccessfully to revisit their
stands, yet they have remained adamant and determined to rescue the church even amid all
the controversies created by the EP to frustrate their moves. Let the EP and cohort know that
CONCERNED CHRISTIANS are watching and will know when to also swing into action!
What should trigger every CONCERNED CHRISTIAN to know there must be a dead rat in this whole
thing is the fact that one does not need much effort for truth to prevail. When one is right, that is okay and
one should not go the extra mile even victimizing people just to prove their point. If the EP and cohort are so
confident and truly think that their actions so far are legal and constitutional – that there have been no
violations of the organic texts of the CBC or procedures as CONCERNED CHRISTIANS claim, then why
all the agitations leading even to the excommunication of Christians, erratic public and social media
outings? They could simply wait for the courts to put those individuals to shame through a just and clear
ruling in their favour. Instead, they are more troubled, worried and expressing uneasiness through more
unchristian acts that only confirm their true nature.
Well, this fresh outing by CONCERNED CHRISTIANS is not on any aspect of the pending matter already
before the judiciary which is principally a case against the sitting EP and CBC Board Chairman who are
being asked to justify what legal instrument gave them the right and power to dismiss, dissolve create
and to arrogate to themselves so much power. Is this not a straightforward matter which the EP and
cohorts should face without any fears of contradiction? Is it not just about putting side-by-side the CBC
constitution and other regulatory instruments and using these to verify whether or not the EP’s acts or
decisions align with them or not?
This publication seeks to continue edifying the entire Christian fold and the community at large on recent
developments since the new medical service director (Mr. Ngum Samuel) assumed office.
For your reminder, this is the same gentleman who was proposed by the search committee (made up of
the EP and Chairman) but was rejected twice by the health department and the General Council. He was
later catapulted to the top job through a semblance of election by none other but his Big Boss – the EP.
This ‘impostor’ dh is now caught up between doing true service to the staff under him and implementing
the selfish agenda of his Big Boss whether right or wrong. He who pays the piper dictates the tone, they
say.
An area where the new director has begun to show his dependence on high instructions from his big boss
and or perhaps where he has started displaying gross incompetence is in the recent appointments,
postings and transfers of staff within CBCHS institutions.
Firstly, we CONCERNED CHRISTIANS are shocked to notice that the top leadership of the CBCHS is
being gradually transformed into Kom. Of the 10 Administrators and Assistant Administrators that have
been appointed, 4 (40%) are of the Kom tribe alone and we are told they are all incompetent individuals,
hence not promoted based on their know-how but on their tribe of origin. Yet, the CBC EP who now
approves all those staff movements has curiously stayed mute. Is this not the same EP who has been
shouting everywhere about equity and tribalism? Will it then be overstated to say his hard-handedness
of the previous CBCHS administration under the former DHS based on tribalism was just witch-hunting? Giving a dog a bad name just to hang it.
If the previous leadership is being accused of hiring many Wimbum (who unfortunately constitute the
majority of Baptist Christians all over), how come the Kom minority is now suddenly being projected without
the same EP or anyone raising an eyebrow? Is there a hidden plan by the sitting director to establish a
“Kom-nasty” in the CBCHS?
Secondly, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS learned that in the appointment of new leaders, senior staff are
being systematically demoted and deliberately humiliated through military-styled handing over. No time
to write handing over notes. No consideration for their families, or children, to take care of or move with to
the next station. Not even the chance for them to orientate the staff who are taking over from them. They
are reported to be treated as though they are criminals simply because they either worked with the former
DHS or have been openly against the EP’s moves to establish an autocracy in the church.
Regrettably, we have learned from good sources that some of the leaders who are being shabbily treated
are those who gave their lives and all to make the health department what it is today. Yet, they are being
treated by the same system as dogs. From our independent findings, it is increasingly clear that the new
director’s concern is less about competency and more about loyalty to him and his masters. It doesn’t
matter whether services are negatively affected or not. All that matters to them is to consolidate their grip
over the system and establish an effective spying machinery across it.
Shortly after the publication of the appointments, postings and transfers, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS
equally learned that during the routine morning devotion service at the Nkwen Baptist Center, Mr. Ngum
had an outburst expressing frustrations about CBCHS staff not being tolerant of the ongoing change
and his leadership. In this outburst, he revealed that CBC Field Pastors see all CBCHS workers as
pagans.

Tragically, this outburst was simply considered by many CBCHS staff as a battle of a pricking conscience
because it is a well-known truth that there has been open bias in the selection of candidates for the
position of DHS, CBCHS Board chairperson and vice, gross constitutional violations in the electoral
process and depriving the Board of the Health Department of exercising its constitutional right to elect
their director due to ulterior motives. All of these violations orchestrated by the sitting EP through
misguided Field Pastors under the cover of the General Council are enough for any right-thinking person,
be it a staff of the CBCHS to know that everything is wrong with the ongoing changes.
Currently, the statement “the reign of the unqualified” is fast becoming a slogan within CBCHS
corridors as the sitting DHS has continued to replicate this best-bad practice that started at the top level of
the convention, to all other lower positions in the health department.
“The reign of the unqualified” is finally here!
This has become the common talk in corridors at institutions within the CBC. It’s a general impression
that workers have about their new leaders – starting even with the EP. The best qualified and experienced
ones are being relegated to the back while those considered/or known to be less competent but loyal to
the new leadership are compensated with promotions.
As indicated above, this is not an opinion only held by CBCHS staff. This is a general feeling that started
right from the top with the election of a leader of doubtful character and spiritual stands in the person of
the EP. Since taking office, the Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne is reported to have been systematic in
passing over major leadership positions including at department levels to “Beni oui oui” (yes-men) – those
weak ones who accept to lick his boots.
Deprived of any safe space to express their frustrations, workers have resorted to slang, and camp creations
but are helpless as they watch the EP machinery continue to stir the system towards collapse. We are
told, new leaders are emerging most of whom are individuals who served or continue to serve as spies
providing information to Nditemeh and his cohort. What a frustrating work environment all of this has now
created within the CBC – all as a result of the greed and oversized ambition of two individuals (the EP
and Chairman) backed by some “hidden forces”.
It is a similar feeling of distrust that workers now hold of all CBC institutions which they now consider to
be nothing but rubber stamp structures as they have been formatted to serve the interest of a single
individual – the EP. While the various boards of the departments were all purged of critical thinkers, while
the general council was equally reconstituted to include only field pastors without valour and candour,
CONCERNED CHRISTIANS are even becoming more worried knowing that there are plans underway to
also rubbish the general session which is the general assembly platform of all Christians par excellence.
Rev. Nditemeh and cohorts are said to be pushing through the agenda of a decentralized general session.
This is a concept that was first implemented during COVID-19 when social distancing restrictions were
imposed. For Rev. Nditemeh’s camp, a decentralized general session remains a good divide–to–better–rule strategy. After all, as he acknowledges, were it not for this decentralized system, he could
never have become EP. This is regrettably true because a general assembly held in one location will
make it difficult for the whole body of Christians to be manipulated as he did to become EP. Throughout
his mandate, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS have known his worth by his fruits and will work to
avoid repeating such a scenario of regionalized general sessions that could result in yet another
regrettable choice of EP for the church.
It is so sad that while the EP and cohort are unrolling this evil plan to completely take over and control
the church for their selfish interests, some naive Christians continue to be fooled into believing that
the crisis in the CBC concerns only a department and that it is about the former DHS not wanting to retire
from office after four decades of uninterrupted leadership as director of CBCHS. At least, for all those
years, the former DHS has a litany of accomplishments to his credit and is known to truly love the system
which he sacrificed his whole life to build. This is a fact that as CONCERNED CHRISTIANS we need to
recognize and at least celebrate this man that served the system wholeheartedly and not try to blot out
his legacy as the EP and cohort are trying so hard to do. The wrong debate is the one which points people
or narrows their focus to a supposed leadership squabble in the CBCHS. There is nothing as such!
The real issue at hand is that some individuals have taken their agendas into the house of God
and are determined to make this agenda go through either by hook or crook. In the process, they are
ready to brush aside the fundamental texts of the CBC (the constitution and all other internal policies)
and even to eliminate – literarily and figuratively anyone that constitutes an opposition to their
Machiavellian plan.
From our independent findings, the CBCHS stood out as that lone department that has been strong
enough to mount meaningful resistance to the EP – preventing him from implementing this destructive
agenda. This explains why everything escalated when the mafia started working to technically appoint a
DHS that will help the EP and cohorts penetrate the CBCHS.
To buttress this point of a mafia within the church, one only needs to take a look at the recent appointment,
posting and transfer of staff that took place recently in the CBCHS. It is characterized by score-settling
as those who constitute or are perceived to constitute an opposition are being punished while relatively
mediocre staff are being elevated. Senior administrators who had worked closely with the former DHS
are being treated unfairly. Skills, experience competence and character now come only second
after loyalty, and this only helps to weaken the entire system the more.
Additionally, the recent appointments also revealed another aspect of the EP’s dubious personality.
Contrary to his big talks on social media and other platforms in which he often insisted that CBCHS needs
to be led by Baptist Christians, we rather noticed a steady increase in the number of non-Baptists taking
over leadership positions. A case in point is the CMO of Etoug-Ebe Baptist Hospital, the assistant
procurement of Central Pharmacy in Mutengene and the worst case has been the appointment of a
female Rev. pastor of Winners Chapel as Chef of Secretariat at the director of health service’s cabinet.
Lastly, there has been so much talk/misinterpretations concerning the decisions by some dire heart
Baptist Christians to take the EP and cohort to court over their abuse of power. CONCERNED
CHRISTIANS that we approve of this move. As it now stands, God has emboldened and is using
these brethren to shame those who think are strong and can take politics into His house. God has
probably chosen to use them to take His church back to the primitive age. CONCERNED CHRISTIANS
applaud this move and are praying for God to strengthen them to stay fast and not quiver though the
enemy appears mighty and though they are being persecuted. Let them remember that sometimes even
the devil can quote the scriptures just to put people in doubt about their actions (Christ’s temptation in
the wilderness).
Besides, let us not forget that it is this very EP that taught Christians that you can settle a case against a
colleague/ or pastor in court. After assassinating the CBC constitution and vehemently refusing to heed
to counsel from his predecessors, influential Baptist Christians like the former PM – HE Philemon Yang,
the legal team of CBC and the constitutional committee acts by some brave Christians like these
should instead be saluted.
How can some Christians rather be so naïve to believe the EP’s propaganda and slander campaigns that
he did not do anything bad by taking a fellow pastor to court, but that fellow Christians who have also
taken him to court for gross abuse of power are the only bad ones to the extent they are being
excommunicated from the Church. Well, we must not forget that were it not for the bold act of Martin
Luther through the 95 points against the Roman Catholic church, a thing that was seen to be unimaginable
at that time given the dominance of the catholic church, the protestant movement could never have been
born and by extension, no Baptist church could have ever existed. This is to say that protesting is not
entirely bad after all especially when no space exists for internal expression and settlement of differences
without being victimized.
With all the council he received. Christians tried through various avenues to bring the EP to reason but
the greed in him surpassed everything else. What other internal means could be envisaged
especially at this time when all internal governance structures have been corrupted or their leaders bribed
with positions and benefits to defend/promote only the EP’s devilish agenda and not the interest of the
church?
Well, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS know so well that the chief initiator of court cases within the Baptist
church in Cameroon remains Rev Nditemeh. He did it with impunity and the General Council kept clapping
for him as he deviated from fundamental Baptist principles until he finally brought disgrace to the church
through what he considered revolutionary reforms. In due time, members of this General Council will also
have to answer for participating in this conspiracy to muscle the church for their self-interests. The future
shall tell!
As we conclude this publication, we want to let CONCERNED CHRISTIANS know that score-settling
is now ongoing in the CBCHS as we have predicted. This is being done through punitive transfers and, the creation
of fictitious positions just to institute layers of spying, rumour spreading and blackmail. Highly experienced
and qualified staff who worked closely with the former DHS are becoming soft targets as they are being
relegated to the back in favour of less competent ones simply because they can be manipulated.
The implication of this leadership style will be a steady decline in the volume and quality of services
over time. CONCERNED CHRISTIANS should not be surprised when in the next five years or slightly
more, the CBCHS as we know it today, becomes a mere shadow of itself. For every action, there is bound
to be a commensurate reaction which comes with consequences. Let CONCERNED CHRISTIANS watch
out and take necessary actions to save their church and all related services today before the
consequences become irreparable.
Let it be known that CONCERNED CHRISTIANS hold no grudge against the EP. All that we want him to
do is to be true. Do not say a thing, yet turn and do the complete opposite. Lies-telling, insults,
intimidation/bullying, extorsion, character assassination and blackmail are behaviours that are strange in
the house of God!
We are all together with the EP when it comes to ensuring equity and a work environment free of any
tribal tendencies. But when the EP says it, he should be working towards truly keeping to it. What we
deplore is the double standards of the EP which makes him appear more like a politician than a man of
God in the eyes of Christians. Until this EP takes up his sceptre as the shepherd that he is supposed to be
and truly leads and does not want to lord it over everyone, we, CONCERNED CHRISTIANS will remain very
concerned about the future of the church under him.
