CBC: Former Executive President Gets Leadership Role at Baptist World Alliance
The former Executive President (EP) of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC), Rev. Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne, has been elected and appointed by the Executive Committee of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) as a member of the Commission on Baptist Doctrine and Christian Unity.
The BWA Executive Committee also appointed Nditemeh as a member of the BWA Commission on Multifaith Relations, where he will help the Baptist World Alliance in interfaith dialogue with other Christian denominations such as Anglicans, Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians and even non-Christian religions like Islam and Judaism.
The BWA is the world’s global organization of Baptists, bringing together more than 51 million baptized believers in 178,000 churches around the world. Rev. Dr. Nditemeh will be on the Committee for a five-year term beginning July 2025 to July 2030.
An induction ceremony will take place during the Baptist World Congress in July 2025, scheduled for Brisbane, Australia.
Rev. Nditemeh is a pastor, author, theologian and professor who teaches in several seminaries in Africa, including tenure at the Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CBTS). During his term as EP of the CBC, Nditemeh exposed what some have described as “systemic corruption” in the CBC, resulting in court cases against his person and office.
