Obituary – Young Reverend Sister Passes Away in Shisong At 25
Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis, Shisong, are in deep mourning
Sr. Nganyu Bernice M., from the Wum Community, origin Tabenken, and a one-year professed member of the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis, of the Bamenda Province, returned to her creator at the age of 25 yesterday evening at the St. Elizabeth General Hospital Shisong.
Our condolences to the immediate family (the Nyongs), religious family and friends. RIP Sis.
We lost her. It’s with deep pain and sadness that I announce the death of our daughter, Rev Sr. Bernice Nganyu, the junior sister to Rev Nfor James Nganyu, the children of the late Nyong Christian Nganyu. Sister fell ill in Wum, where she worked with the Catholic Mission Health Center. The sisters rushed her to the Shisong hospital. Not long after arrival, she was placed on oxygen. She came out of it and was okay. She was able to take her bath by herself. The mother, Mercy, from the village, was now with her. Everything seemed well. She was even ready to leave for the village since the sisters were with Bernice. The situation suddenly changed, and she cancelled going back to the village. The next day, we lost Sr. Bernice. The corpse is in the Shisong hospital mortuary pending funeral arrangements. The mother returned to Tabenken. The Rev Sisters will announce the date for the burial, which will take place in Kumbo. The family will come for the burial and thereafter return to Tabenken to continue with the crydie. We wait for the funeral program from the sisters. May her soul RIP.
