Prof. Victor Mbarika officially opened the 2026 ICT for Africa Summit and Technology Innovation Challenge
After the official opening ceremony on August 4, 2026, Professor Victor Mbarika, Founder and President of the Board of Trustees of ICT University, had this to say:
An honour to officially open the 2026 ICT for Africa Summit and Technology Innovation Challenge, hosted by The ICT University.
Under the theme “Africa’s Next-Gen Innovators: Driving Digital Innovation for Inclusive Development,” the Summit brings together stakeholders, industry leaders and student innovators to advance dialogue, skills development, collaboration, and technology-driven solutions for Africa’s evolving needs.
A key highlight is the Technology Innovation Challenge, which will reward innovative solutions developed by high school and university students that address some of the country’s most pressing societal challenges, with CFA 3,500,000 in prizes.
