The Ministry of Public Works announced on Tuesday that earthworks on the 39km section of the Kumbo – Ndu road in the North West region had progressed by 7.58% as of the end of March 2024. This work includes earthworks, preparation for the commissioning of the crushing plant as well as the carrying out of technical studies prescribed by the market.
Indeed, the company Bun’s Sarl, under the technical control of the Caem/Africa Engineering/Gic Mali Group, is responsible for carrying out the work on this section. In recent weeks, excavation work has been carried out and deposited on several sections, covering a volume of 94,600.49 m3. In addition, backfill work from the spoil was carried out, reaching a volume of 46,290.76 m3.
Concerning the crushing plant, elements have been transported to the “Njikuh – Jirt” rock quarry, and preparatory work for its installation is underway. The earthworks of the platform for the crusher installation and the access road have been completed, and the foundation work for the crusher installation is underway. In addition, the company obtained the provisional operating permit for the “Njikuh – Jirt” rock quarry.
At the same time, the project had a direct social impact by training and/or recruiting more than 300 young residents, thus demonstrating its commitment to the local community.
