Ambazonia: Princess Belinda to lead transition in Kom Fondom

Ambazonia: Princess Belinda to lead transition in Kom Fondom
\
Princess Belinda has assumed leadership of the Kom Kingdom following the demise of Fon Clement Ndzi II, in line with the customs and traditions of the Fondom.
According to Kom tradition, the royal throne is never left vacant. While the search for the next “Nyamabo” continues and traditional succession rites are being carried out, the designated Princess serves as the custodian of the throne and leads the Kingdom.
During this transitional period, Princess Belinda exercises the authority of the throne and oversees the affairs of the Fondom until the new Fon is formally presented to the people and enthroned.
The arrangement reflects one of the unique aspects of Kom culture, which has long recognized the important role of women in society. Traditionally, women have the right to own farmland, build houses, own property, and hold leadership responsibilities.
Kom history also links the settlement of the Kingdom to a woman. Princess Belinda will lead temporarily until the new “Nyamabo” is found.
