Leadership Transition at Bamenda Regional Hospital
A technical handover ceremony between the outgoing Director of the Bamenda Regional Hospital, Dr. Nsame Denis, and the incoming Director, Dr. Sama Julius Nkam, took place on August 18, 2026, at the Regional Hospital.
The ceremony marked the formal transition of administrative and technical responsibilities as Dr. Sama Julius Nkam assumes leadership of the health facility from Dr. Nsame Denis.
The Secretary General of the North-West Regional Assembly, Peter Giyoh Yerima, represented the Chairman of the Hospital Management Board, Professor Fru Angwafo III, who also serves as President of the Regional Executive Council of the North-West Regional Assembly.
The handover provided an opportunity to ensure continuity in the management and delivery of healthcare services at the region’s principal referral hospital. It also reaffirmed the importance of effective leadership, institutional continuity and accountability in strengthening healthcare delivery across the North-West Region.
