Controversial May 20 Celebration in Ambazonia
Bui Warriors ban car circulation in response to the administrative ban on motorbikes.
The Bui Unity Warriors have responded to the Bui Administrative ban on the circulation of motor bikes in Tobin and the environs, and Bambui village in Kumbo Central, by banning the circulation of vehicles within the same vicinities.
The Bui Administrative banning of motor bikes issued by Saidou Moussa on May 12, 2026, starting from May 16 to May 21, 2026 stemmed from the fear that over a hundred Ambazonia fighters zoomed into Kumbo main administrative headquarters, Tobin and into Bambui, where Bui SDO’s residence is located, taking both the Military and Administration by surprise, forcing the military to promptly relocate to their camps.
Our contacts in Tobin report that Bui Warriors’ banning of car circulation was especially provoked on May,13,2026 when Cameroun terrorist soldiers arrested hundreds of civilians, seizing their telephones and advancing as reasons that the population refused to inform them of the sea of Bui Warriors invading Tobin and Bambui.
Though civilians later received back their telephones, mostly after paying some money, some youths were kept under military custody, and an additional number of youths were arrested from a village called Mbiyliim.
We are told these youths are forcefully being retained to March on May 20 – a day whose celebration has been banned in Southern Cameroons. Another source adds that, for fear that Ambazonia fighters may disrupt the May 20th celebration in Tobin, Bui Administrative capital, these civilians shall be used as human shields in case Bui Warriors try to disrupt activities on that day.
